Awesome and an example of what is known as "creative destruction"

Unfortunate there are still goobers out there in places like Austin that are upset about it.

Now that we have become so used to Uber it's hard imagining going back to smelly cabs and phone lines where you're handled by some Burger King worker

Crazy to think that consumers, when given the choice, will choose a better and less expensive means of transportation. Who would have thought??

Guess so. We took Lyft all around Chicago last year during Wisconsin game. It was dirt cheap to go across town. Like 5-7 dollars

Elected officials who are paid for their concern via campaign contributions from either lobbyists and/or unions.

The solar industry employs more people than the entire U.S. coal and gas industry. Good people have been brainwashed to unquestionably defend the "save coal" rhetoric by making them believe doing so is going to have some massive impact on employment, all at the expense of cheaper and more efficient energy sources.

Coal miners aren't being laughed at; a dying industry trying to manipulate public opinion for the benefit of only a few people is what is being derided.

Taxis in chicago actually aren't that bad, but I'm sure Uber and Lyft are way better.

No need for them to be upset by cab drivers losing their cab company income. Those same drivers also work for Uber and Lyft.

And all those people barely produce enough electricity to power a microwave.

stupid to let coal sit in the ground when it is useful or to shut down coal plants while they are still useful.
