i just finished empire of the summer moon. brilliant book that doesn't pull punches to the whites or indigenous people. i'm sensitive to their plight, what Texas and America did to them as well, and the lies sold to them during the trail of tears, but the majority of the history of the native americans is barbaric beyond measure.

Matt Walsh was talking about this issue the other day. If I remember correctly, it was Gallup who did a survey asking people if they believe native tribes lived in peace. I think it was something like 70% of Democrats and even something like half of independents wrongly thought all native tribes lived in peace and harmony before the arrival of Europeans.

On another subject, I have wondered how the majestic Plains Indians got around before the Spanish lost a few horses because there were no horses in North America before that.
So I guess the optimal action would have been, upon arrival in America, to leave it as an untouched game preserve with a couple million people no further advanced than subSaharan Africans free to run around (literally, except for the occasional canoe) and play and kill each other when they felt the urge.

Example: some indian tribe is holding up two City of New Orleans projects right now. The people at the city do not believe that there is any standing, but all it takes is one judge or one lawyer to get that check. Next thing...it happens again in the future.

the book i mentioned ("Empire of the Summer Moon") has a solid chapter about how certain tribes dominated the other tribes. The Comanches were a bunch of perpetual losers till they figured out how horses work when they stole them from the Spanish. it was just a bunch of nomads taking land from one another.
They learned how to shoot from horseback and became the most dominant tribe in short time.
