Any of you folks in Tangipahoa Parish hearing this? It’s being leaked by teachers who’ve expressed concerns and been told not to discuss with anyone. Teachers are scared to death to say anything. Pictures supposedly floating around?

Seriously I’ve heard enough from the teachers over the past 18 months. We get it, it has sucked but it has sucked for everyone including the parents having to keep their kids at home over Covid or a hurricane.

If there is mold it should get corrected but if they don’t work, they shouldn’t get paid just like the rest of us.

C’mon, this isn’t an attack teachers post. I have kids in school here. Just curious what some may know, the Rant usually has the scoop. I know they’re are a lot of posters here from the area.

I wouldn’t trust Tangipahoa officials right now when it comes to herding people into unsafe environments.

They work at least 2-4 hours a day after school grading papers and doing lesson plans 7 days a week.

I had more mold in my classroom before the storm than after, at least this made them tear up the carpet and clean the walls

sounds like they aren't efficient with their off hours during the day if this is necessary

How about one of you start a separate thread re: your broad displeasure with teachers? Wonder how many of you are posting on work time?

Teachers that have no clue about mold or what is safe or not safe. Dead mold is not an issues as long as it is not disturbed. Control the humidity and you can kill mold. Sure dead mold does not look good, but it is not dangerous unless you are disturbing it.

My mom was a teacher for 30 years and is now a principal. She never worked after hours or on the weekends.

That’s good info. Hopefully that’s the situation here. I appreciate the teachers asking questions so we can find out.

There is no mold. You are dealing with dramatic females who don’t want to go back to work

Well to defend teachers here, they use to have a planning time. Now that has been taken away for the most part, with PLC, Cluster, IEP, student testing, etc that hour break to grade papers and plan is all but gone.

They have some shitty teachers just like any other profession and everyone knows at least one who continues to complain. Sucks because those who are great get overlooked because of it.

If only they knew how much mold they are inhaling with every breath when they step outside.
