Much of WY is awesome. My dad bought a place outside of Bozeman, MT last year. He's single, been retired for a decade and decided to be a reverse snowbird. He spends his summers in MT and the rest of the year in LA.

Sounds like he's living the dream. I'd love to something like that one day but I'd probably swap LA for AZ.

I agree. I hope to retire in some little mountain town.

5 of his 7 grandkids are here. Otherwise he'd just live in Montana.

I’ll admit Idaho comes to mind for either.

Good. Please don't come.

Wyoming offers what is likely of the most beautiful scenery in the country sans Alaska

I'm totally fine with them not visiting.

I've been to all three. They are beautiful and very much worth visiting. Not sure I'd want to live there.

Glacier N.P. is one of the best parks in the US but I think I'd kill myself if I had to live in Kalispell.

All the edgy posters putting Louisiana. Hahahaha. Stupid fricks. Say what you want but LA has one of if not the most unique cultures (not culcha fools) in the US, tons of history in New Orleans, great food and drink and possibly the greatest party (Mardi Gras) in the world.

I just wish all the haters would get (and stay) the frick out.

FWIW. I have been to every state in the US sans Alaska and if I had to pick it would be Kansas. Just not a lot there.

New Mexico has nothing to offer

NM is unbelievably awesome and beautiful state. It had amazing food (up there with Louisiana), snow skiing, cave scuba diving, beautiful deserts and mountains, Santa Fe (prettiest city I've ever visited, reminded me of New Orleans without the filth), and Route 66.
It also has stuff like White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns.

It is an amazing state!!!

2-3?

Idaho is arguably the most scenic in the lower 48. It's only real drawback is no coastline.

Least interesting, Indiana.

Ummm, that is the very definition of a snowbird. Going to cold climate places in the summer and warm climate places the rest of the year. Unless they changed the definition and I missed it, which is possible.
