Why did the white car collide with another vehicle?
It is a combination of not paying attention, I’ll give you that, but what else?
Was it that the gold truck was braking in front her? What was the gold truck braking to avoid?

He was charged with negligent homicide. Here are the legal definitions:
La. R.S. 14:32: Negligent homicide is . . . The killing of a human being by criminal negligence.
La. R.S. 14:12: Criminal negligence exists when, although neither specific nor general criminal intent is present, there is such disregard of the interest of others that the offender's conduct amounts to a gross deviation below the standard of care expected to be maintained by a reasonably careful man under like circumstances.
I don't think charging Lacy with negligent homicide was insane. He is speeding and driving into oncoming traffic. Reasonably careful people do not do that. Is it a "gross deviation?" Is the other driver's conduct an intervening cause? Those are issues for 12 people to decide.
The macro problem here is that everyone is conditioned to believe that they are experts based on limited information they view on the internet. The reaction against Lacy initially was crazy. The reaction in his favor last week was crazy. The truth is that he did a dumb thing that had major consequences. It is unfortunate for all involved.

No, it was over when Kyren Lacy was running from the cops for a separate incident, drove recklessly again, crashed his car, then took his own life.

Lacy is only guilty of making the gold truck brake. I have admitted as such. His actions absolutely in no way shape or form made the white car drive illegally

At 11:25 in this video the driver of the gold truck, states the lady in the car caused the wreck.
The Trooper also tells him what to write in his sworn statement.
Driver of the gold truck doesn't even mention Green Charger.

But that's the point we're making when we counter one hypothetical (if Lacy wasn't driving, victim lives) with another (if gold truck was reacting to anything else, Funyuns still crashes). Lacy speeding does not remove her duty to follow at a proper distance and speed, especially when she was reacting to the actions of the gold truck without ever having seen Lacy. Put another way, if a kid had run out into the street and the truck brakes to avoid him, car crashes behind him, do we charge the kid with negligent homicide?

Damn, that’s alot of mental gymnastics in one sentence.
“Yea, the gold truck had to brake because some piece of shite was speeding his way and he didnt want to get it.”
Then the white car has to maneuver to avoid the gold truck that you admit was stopping in the road because of Lacy’s actions.
“Nah, she should have been a defensive driver. Totally her fault. Certainly not Lacy’s.”

That doesn’t mean he didn’t know he wasn’t at fault. He absolutely knew he was at fault as he called an attorney within minutes. He didnt stop to help or to accept responsibility, he zoomed past it and put his potential millions above those people KNOWING HE WAS WRONG.
Well, not really.
1) Everyone has a right to representation and we should not prejudice actual responsibility immediately onto someone who quickly chooses to call an attorney.
2) At the time of the call, it was impossible for him to know that Mr. Hall had died. So, it's only logical to think he was calling to make sure he was represented for a reckless driving charge.
JMHO.

Its some REAL dumbasses on here! And I'm white

Lacy’s actions of illegal driving made a truck brake. That’s it
The white cars illegal actions hit another car head on
Why would Lacy, in a criminal case, bet the homicide charge?

Oh it matters.
Let’s not pretend like it doesn’t, and not just related to this incident.
I have seen 10’s of thousands of blacks on other social media platforms blaming the fricking cops of all people for Lacy’s death and it’s because they only see color.
THEY CAN NEVER frickING ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING.
Posted on 10/7/25 at 12:07 pm to dnm3305
Well it seems like the white car driver doesn’t have to accept any responsibility according to the police

Unfortunately there are two people dead because Kyren Lacy made bad choices. Just because he could run fast and catch a football doesn't change that fact.

Dude in the gold truck was going 28mph, how hard did he have to brake!! WTF!

As she shouldn’t as she was merely reacting to what that a-hole Lacy caused.
Why was Lacy speeding so much and swerving to begin with?
Was he late for church?
People in this thread, when you drive on I-10, when you see a car coming up fast on your arse swerving in and out of traffic, do you already know the race of e person about 5 cars back as you see them being a complete piece of shite in your rearview mirror.
It’s as if some of think we don’t live in the real world and see this type of shite happening time and time again.
I cannot drive for 30 mins on I-10 without a black person swerving in and out of traffic endangering the lives of others. This is nothing new, this is just a high profile person doing it.
