Lots of traffic and more arrivals every day. Gridlock on major roads. Multiple cars in driveways from refugee family members packing into houses.
Hopefully New Orleans area back up within three weeks at the longest.
People here will need to exercise patience and empathy in adjusting to the influx of our friends from the New Orleans area like they did so well after Katrina.

More than a few Katrina refugees never left and we've been suffering for it ever since. Now we'll be seeing a bit of a Round 2 of that (including the housing market spike up again).

Except for the 100k New Orleanians running around. You musta forgot how bad traffic was after Katrina. Come to think of it, this is nothing like Katrina. Only traffic I see is for gas

I lived in Br for Katrina. BR will never catch up to the population it gained after that storm. BR has gone to the dogs

It’s going to calm down once more people (and gas stations) start getting power back in the next couple of days.

Nobody has patience at all right now. It’s dangerous out there.

You are correct

Because I was waiting for one of these lies:

frick anyone who doesn’t realize BR was a hell hole before Katrina. A cess pool of disillusioned, ignorant slime that has to project blame on a natural disaster to cover up for the city’s inevitable demise.

How is that different from any other week in BR?

I almost got hit at a working light today on Perkins because the dumb son of a bitch wanted to treat it as a 4-way stop.

The dumbass also had the nerve to honk his horn and wave #1 because I went on a GREEN light!

Thing is a lot of people haven’t returned to work and school in BR. Wait until next week when they do and more refugees arrive because power is back on here.

I don’t think it’ll be as bad because NOLA itself didn’t really get destroyed or anything. Most of those people will probably stay there. It’ll be people from the surrounding areas who migrate to BR, not a huge mass migration that we would see out of a big city like NOLA, like we saw after Katrina.
