Vmax numbers are cool and all but I would still much rather have a Murray T. 50. Murray is the only boutique manufacturer I trust to build a 200+ mph car and still have the drivetrain tractability to be a daily driver.

Lots of rumors going around on the internet that this record isn't legit.

Using the medians on the highway and comparing to the Koenigsegg run on the same highway they've calculated that the numbers provided were way off. Additionally they've calculated the redline RPM, tire size, and gear ratios of the transmission and have calculated that the max speed of the car in 6th gear was something like 296mph.

Shmee150 with a great breakdown.

No. It’s the fastest Street legal car and the speed was on a public road. It’s a requirement for that sanctioning body.

Where is there a public road long enough, flat enough, and smooth enough to allow a car to run that fast?

Asking for friend...

The t.50 is so amazing but that fan ruins the rear aesthetic imo. I love function over form design on these cars but the fan is brutal.

Very interesting. I was very shocked the Koenigsegg record was beaten so quickly, so I could see some fudging of the numbers to hype up the new SSC.

Rumor about the rumor is that TG had to refilm the last run at a slower speed because a crosswind moved the car hard at 330ish mph on the record run and the pucker factor and drivers reaction after weren't a good look. I hopefully it being bogus or some data/vid/truth come out soon.

SSC makes some amazing vehicles. I had the pleasure of touring the facility a couple years ago. You could eat off the floors in that place.

Well if any of you other baws decide to do this, let me know, beers are on me.

I love that they didnt paint it with garishly bright colors. Just glossy black all over. Thing looks like a new age stealth fighter with the wings removed. Absolutely beautiful.
