My grandparents own a beach condo right outside of Destin. They are very old; Right now we make reservations through grandmother. My question is how do you split up the dates/time when they are gone. 3 families. One of which goes 3x in the summer. Is there some sort of online calendar where you can reserve a date? Open to everyone in the family?

Damn man, you know you can just use a Google Calendar if it's just among family.

Simplest would be a 3 week rotation and rotate the big holidays if one family keeps getting them.

Piss inside everywhere, establish dominance. Take what's yours.

You're going about this the wrong way.

You need to take Granny and Grampy out to dinner, get them nice and sloshed, then coerce them into changing their will to explicitly name you as the sole inheritor of the condo.

Calendars? Splitting the condo? No. Take it for yourself.

Do you rent the condo out to other people, or is it strictly for family use?

Your GPs must be well over 100 to have a granddaughter old enough to not know how to use a web based calendar.

How about just being a man and talking this out with your family instead of being Beta.

We have a house at the beach that is shared between 5 families. In 9 years there haven't really been many disagreements over usage.

One person keeps the calendar. We have a draft every December on dates where every family gets to pick 2 weeks, then the rest of the year it's just there so if nobody is there, you can decide to just up and go use it or let friends use it.

52/3

Pull out 7/4, Labor Day, Memorial Day. Rotate those each year

Exactly. OP must not read the trashy financial advice column on Yahoo. Move in with the grandparents, get your name on their bank accounts and get power of attorney.

My advice, sell it.

If by “when they are gone” you mean after they die, forget it. Sell it as soon as you can and split the proceeds 3 ways. Otherwise, there will eventually be a huge argument that will cause irreparable damage to the family.

Sell it assuming we're still in a seller's market when the time comes. Coownership can be a nightmare. Who's going to handle the management and maintenance for example? With the money you take out you can continue going to Florida or another beach spot for years to come while still being able to put the money to good use.

Aint going to work like that, gramps and meemaw will probably leave it to the 3 kids, a value will be assigned to it along with everything else they own and then will be split into 3 lots and each child gets one....or everything gets sold and split the money 3 ways

The kids can inherit the condo, and leave it owned equally by the three, it is done all the time. We have a undivided vacation property in my family that is now on the third generation of owners, we just split taxes, and other expenses equally.among us.
