So the vodka bottle from Soyuz gave me a chuckle. Then I got to thinking.

If you were riding in the back of Soyuz, finished the bottle, then threw it as hard as you can straight towards Earth, would it eventually tumble out of orbit and burn up on reentry?

Like can a human throw something hard enough to de-orbit it?

Why not? Assuming they’re going just fast enough to perpetually orbit, ignoring slight effects of atmospheric friction and whatnot, adding a additional velocity vector straight down would cause the orbit to decay, would it not?

No, i don't believe a person would be able to change the velocity or trajectory enough to cause the orbit to change.
