They also think they they are masters of boiling crawfish, but yet also think corn dogs are a delicacy. They also think it takes epic skills to make a jambalaya but somehow can’t make a brown gravy from a roast.

Who in the frick puts eggs in gumbo?? I was born and raised in Houma and moved near Lafayette when I was a teen. I have never had eggs in gumbo.

I've only heard of dusting crawfish since I moved from Lake Chuck to Baton Rouge and only in recent years here in Baton Rouge.

I've only heard about this on TD. I've never seen anyone actually do it.

This really doesn't even warrant a response.

Yet, you did.

A good friend and coworker of mine is a NLA baw who's been in South Louisiana for the last 10 or so years, and he wants to stay down here. Have another coworker that worked up north but was from down south, and prefers to be down here.

All that said, I have another good friend that works in NELA and I enjoy making trips up north for hunts with him. Honestly I don't have anything against NLA other than all the damn loblolly pine plantations.

They can be really good when done correctly. You won’t find it done correctly from a restaurant

If the Lafayette news does not cover it, then that area ain’t Acadiana. I sure don’t recall seeing Houma on the acadiana news.

That would be what most people call the "Heart" of Acadiana. Doesn't mean the other areas aren't part of Acadiana.

The Louisiana State Legislature actually recognized 22 Parishes as the "Heart of Acadiana" in a 1971 resolution.
