I think the seafood is more plentiful and the fishery's better in SELA (St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Tammany. The boudin, sausage, tasso, and even the andouille is better in SWLA.

Trust me, there's no Prius in my driveway.

Everything you love about southeast Louisiana is because of New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

Southeast Louisiana will wash away well before Southwest Louisiana.

There is that to consider.

Southwest LA doesn't have the crippling ghetto poverty of BR or Nola

There are some very poor communities in SWLA on par with Nola and BR. First that comes to mind is Opelousas and New Iberia

I don’t know how to break it to you but that’s a good thing

You can also use Arkansas or Texas

That map is stupid. In no real world is vile platte and Eunice “East Texas”. Those are two of the most “Louisiana” places in the entire state. Easily. Hell, French is still heavily spoken by the older people around there.

I'm right in this area and it's way more "Louisiana" than BR or NOLA

NOLA is Louisiana in that it’s the top tourist destination and the most visible. BR is a NASCAR town with an identity crisis. (Stolen from an old man from Mississippi)

What people like about Louisiana is Acadiana. BR would give it’s left nut to be the epicenter of Cajun culture. Instead it just gets them on tailgating weekends. NOLA could care less…they are too busy trying to turn the town into Philadelphia.

According to World Population Review, the population of those two areas comes out to: 1,170,830.

Yet the area you have encapsulated in red and claiming it is the lifeblood of Louisiana is the area that elected him.

I’d move the line up to I-12 to include the Northshore given that it’s part of Metro Nola. Then I’d include Pointe Coupee. Other than that, it’s great haha.

LSU, government and refinery jobs create a massive Louisiana gumbo of humanity. Literally why the phrase is mentioned in that video. You get Deep South, Gulf Coast, cajun, creole and New Orleans culture all in small doses around BR. People hate on BR because it’s not as easily noticeable as other parts of the state. It’s there you just have to understand it.

You never know where someone is originally from when you run into them in BR. Could be from Nola, Alabama, Texas, Lafayette or Shreveport. That’s why I love it. I enjoy meeting people from all over and seeing what brought them there.

That map is way off also. Acadiana certainly does not include anything east of The Atchafalaya River or anything west of Crowley. That map is lumping the river parishes with Acadiana. That’s simply false.

If the Lafayette news does not cover it, then that area ain’t Acadiana. I sure don’t recall seeing Houma on the acadiana news.

Yypical. You can keep your spicy grease, I will have a ribeye. Cajun is overrated garbage food.
