There was a day when cops were called on shoplifting. Now they are just let go. Damn. Maybe I should start shoplifting since NOTHING will happen to me if caught.

The store has insurance. Relax.

I was in Harbor Freight last week checking out when a guy in a black hoodie walked out with his arms full of power tools. The cashier yelled at him and some customers took out after the thief. That's when the manager yelled "don't engage with him!"
The customers managed to get the license plate. I hate it.

So previously you weren’t shoplifting bc of the potential penalty? Not bc it’s a shitty, trashy thing to do?

They need to just lock inventory in the back and make you present a card card before bringing anything out.

Instances like this will only get worse and worse. Humanity has fallen so much just in the past 10 years.

I'm sure if you're white the outcome will different.

Thieves are pieces of shite

Unfortunately we all pay for the items that are stolen. The rise in shoplifting is accompanied by a rise in retail prices.

Right. And the dickhead walked.
So if this same prick bashed you over the head with a lead pipe and sent you to the hospital, I could say ‘relax, you’ve got medical insurance.’
Nice logic you’re running there.

Not sure, but there’s a possibility that his post was sarcasm.

Walking into Home Depot Coursey Blvd Baton Rouge the other day and some guy was walking out with a chain saw. The alarm was going off, store clerk said they are not allowed to stop them once they exit the store.

OK, then i don't feel like paying for anything anymore either.
We'll just all walk into every store with insurance and take whatever the frick we want.
Is that the world you want to live in?

Sometime I use the Walmart self check out and will scan a pack of m&m for a steak so technically I’m just getting the steak on sale

Unacceptable.
You think everything just gets absorbed without getting passed down in the form of higher prices for the rest of us? F**k those lowlife SOBs.
I don't care if they lose their hands.
EDIT: Ok, you got me. I admit the sarcasm passed me by like a comet....

I noticed all of the electrical wire is now locked behind a display at the Coursey Home Depot. Probably had too much walking out the store.
I hate a thief

And if this is allowed to occur with no repercussions insurance rates go up and stores charge more for products to cover it and guess who pays for it?
Me and you, the law abiding tax payers.
