Not any company that doesn’t want to break the law. It is against the rules of FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Look up the CAN-SPAM Act. Honoring unsubscribes is a huge issue for email marketers.

Filing a complaint with the FTC is an option, but a much easier option is to “Report as Spam” in your email client. This will damage their reputation as a sender (if enough people do it) and will actually affect their email deliverability.

I unsubscribed from 95% of the stuff that gets sent to my promotions folder a few weeks ago, and it seems to have worked.

I went from the folder being 20-30 emails per day, to like 2-3. A couple I want to keep, like the grocery stores I shop at sending their deals.

There is a better way to do it. Just block the email.

My Gmail has different inboxes: Primary, Updates, Social, Promos. The filter works well, everything seems to go to the correct box. I only get notifications for primary and really only check that and updates for the most part. I set up a script that auto archives unread mail after 3 days.

This setup works well for keeping all the promotional junk out of sight and out of mind, unless I want to go see it.

yes, if you bother to go there and try to unsubscribe from an unsolicited email, all you do is confirm for them that its an active and good email so they send/sell it to all the other spammers. only time unsubscribed worked for me is if it wasnt true spam but a site i bought something from had me on an email list.

The last 2 weeks have been a cosmic shift for me.

I rarely shop online or in person.
I have no social media presence. (Outside this site)

I never used to get spam since I registered my phone number on the do not call registry in 2014.

The last 2 weeks - I get 6-8 phone calls from all over the country, I get 2-3 texts from ATT and at least 3- 5 emails EVERY DAY.

What changed???

Yes, just send them to spam or filter them to trash. Occasionally you may have to just change your email address if they clog up your email too bad.

There’s this old fella at work who answers every spam call and yells at them about “what are you calling me with this shite” and what not. I’ve told him to stop answering them but he was like it might be something important.

If the number isn’t in your contacts don’t answer. If it’s important they’ll leave a message.

I beefed up hard with my phone a few weeks back. I finally removed my UGA.edu email from my mail app, but it turns out that email account was the owner of ~70% of my phone's contacts.

I now have to pick up every call until I can slowly rebuild my address book

And some jerk named Logan signed up for something under my number, and congrats to him, because he has won all sorts of free shite.

I put an app on my phone called RoboKiller. It works marvelously and annoys the shite out of the callers! Check it out when you get a chance. It doesn't stop 100% of the calls, but it blocks about 90% and "talks to" the other 10% just to waste their time.

It is not limited to AT&T, Verizon is letting them thru as well and they all have blind links. Like I'm clicking on that crap.
