I still get fricking junk mail ive unsubscribed to at least 5 times. One trick they try to do is break their marketing communications down into categories, so you may think you’re unsubscribing from all communications but it may just be their shoe line or their fall promo emails. The good ones have the unsubscribe all button and actually honor it. I feel the same way about the Do Not Call list - lol @ people who think that works. These big companies don’t give a flying frick about the rules

The spam phone calls are getting so bad that I’m thinking about changing my number.

The unsubscribe button is for you to confirm your address is good so they keep spamming real email addresses

I just block them. Send to Junk Mail option.

Yep, the last 2-3 weeks have gotten out of hand. I’m seeing my phone number call myself again level bad.

It takes a while. Just make it a point every day.

I started out on a mission about a month ago to stop all notifications/unnecessary emails from being sent to my phone. My rationale being, if I need a reminder set for something, either I'll set it manually or it isn't that important.

This morning, for the first time in a VERY long time, I woke up with no phone notifications and no emails.

It felt amazing.

The robocallers stole my work phone number last week. So far, I've had calls from Ontario, Houston, Sacramento, D.C., and Rolling Rock, NC. I'm thinking about buying a wall map and starting to mark the call locations just for fun......

I noticed that during the power outage for Ida the Robo calls were non-existent. As soon as power came back they started with a vengeance. I had no idea who was calling as I was expecting calls from different people. I answered the calls and was hit with "we have been trying to reach you about....". Those bastards have no mercy..

Yes, and it's so annoying.

It hits me in cycles. But man, there are times when I get six or eight a day. I usually am good for at least one every day or two. But man that shite has gotten completely out of hand lately (as in the last year or so).

Even worse than companies......politicians trying to get a campaign donation!

Use email aliases.

A company sells your email/information? Delete the alias. You will also know who sold it. Security is an extra benefit being you don't re-use the same login (email) for all of your internet accounts.

Over the course of a few months just setup new emails as you log into accounts.

I have a new #. They still happen, but not nearly as often as before

Yep, I get a bunch of those too! I'm savvy enough to recognize they are spam, but I wonder about all those old folks, like my parents who get them.

It's the 21st Century version of "Close Door" button in an elevator.

This.

I have email accounts I use only for buying online. I don't care if those get spammed.

I am a victim of this lately. Now it is texts too. And I have an ongoing insurance claim so I have to answer every number.

And to the OPs point I have dealt with the same thing. I’m part of an organization that has shared my email and I can’t get away from all of the unsolicited messages. It’s obnoxious

It’s like a thermostat in a hotel room. It’s just there to make you feel like you have control.
