Hi-Ho BBQ in Hammond

Both pleasant memories of visiting my grandparents in Folsom going back to the late 60's-early-70's. Still hit up Hi How when passing through HMD and was totally bummed when Badeaux's closed.

Cooter Brown's - New Orleans. Not really an eatery, it's a bar. But it has some of the best bar food around. Spent many a night there a long time ago.
Great for watching football games.

O-T Help me out. Can't remember the name. 1970's maybe early 80's in Baton Rouge. Broadmoor Theater on Florida Blvd. The little dark pizza and po-boy shop connected to the theater. Had that big old school duck hunting game on the wall. Everyone went there.

Loved that place as a kid!
Will also submit Bernice’s in Bunkie. Probably mostly nostalgia but I had a burger and onion rings there once a month as a kid when we would visit family and would kill to have one right now.

Hi-Ho’s in Hammond during college.

I loved some Badeaux’s as well (both in Madisonville and Covington). I liked their “chuckwagons”

Also in Covington:

Bears (although it was based out of a shed in Mandeville back in the day). It’s is still my favorite place to grab a po-boy, no offense to Acquistapaces and their delicious roast beef.

Pizza man (it is STILL a good spot for some pizza). I prefer it to the other places in town.

As for other places that closed down, I miss Nathan’s burgers.

Blackie's Poboy - Lockport (the roast beef has changed since my childhood, but the bacon cheeseburger poboy still hits everytime)

Noah's - Lockport (just as another poster shared). The goudama (spelling?) burger was chef's kiss.

Western Sizzlin -Thibodaux (was the perfect spot to grab lunch after the Thibodaux parades turned down Menard and by the time we'd return, the parade was getting back to the area for us to catch a 2nd time. Damn those kids that burned it down.

Middendorf’s on Lake Maurepas. Always stopped when skiing the Tickfaw. And there was a stand alone hamburger stand in front of the grocery store in Denham Springs. I would go grocery shopping every Saturday with my MaMa and she would get me a burger and chocolate malt.
