Shreveport is the biggest shite hole I've ever been to

I'm in Shreveport for a few days and went to some yard/ estate sales yesterday and holy shite.. maybe I was on the wrong side of town but the houses were all shite, the roads had pot holes that could swallow your car, the interstates were even shite. And whoever's designed one of the ramps to get on the freeway near downtown is a moron. You have like 10 ft to merge into heavy traffic and there are only two lanes. Someone almost rear ended a car ahead of me.
What is the nice side of town? Over near the lake?

I’m sure there are nicer areas further off of I-20 but there’s not one exit I’d get off of and feel safe. Everything looks like a run down, depressed city.

Mainly side streets off highland avenue I believe.
I did hit up some nice yards sales near Haughton, LA. That area was relatively nice

Well highland is a dying neighborhood so you picked a bad neighborhood. Like any other city there’s good parts and bad parts.

Go south on 49 to Southern Loop, head east. Turn left at the light, drive north all the way back to 3132. Explore the areas around there (you will be safe). Do that and report back

There’s a very nice boardwalk area by the casinos and the bass pro shop. I was floored when I saw how nice it was when I was staying nearby for work.

There are some fine old homes all over town, evidence that it used to be a fine place. It’s a shame.

You were on the wrong side of town. I frequent Shreveport for and I don’t mind going except for the long arse drive.
South and west until you get around the lake is a shite hole. Downtown and bossier isn’t bad. Most things to do and live are on the bossier side
