frick legalizing all drugs
I saw some people in the hospital the other day that are dying from lung cancer caused by cigarettes. Should we ban those too?
Why do you feel that you should have control over the decisions other people make concerning their own lives?

Are you granting them civil immunity?

Yes. Create a "Hamsterdam" like The Wire.

Yes. I love freedom, and that includes the freedom to make poor decisions.

Smokers and alcoholics die all of the time from using so how would cocaine or heroin be any different when it comes to liability for the seller?

I helped out 3 kids this morning with some stuff - all in their 20's - all on drugs. They're trying to pay their light bill by picking up scrap metal anywhere they can get it.
What did you do to "help" these 20 year olds on drugs, desperate to get it anywhere they can?

this all happened while drugs are illegal

people also care about us wearing seatbelts or not... it's fricking stupid
The seatbelt shite is what really pisses me off. Nothing grinds my gears more than going through a seltbelt check with 30 cops in Baton Rouge while people are being murdered and raped on the other side of town. The police should spend their time protecting people from other people and not themselves. It's my life. If I choose not to wear a seltbelt then I wont.

Alcohol has been granted a sort of civil immunity with regard to dram shop laws.
Tobacco companies have previously paid out billions in lawsuits.
Tell me how I legitimately set up a recreational smack selling operation without granting one or risk facing the other?

ANd how is the legal status of drugs helping those kids?

what kind of pills are those in your sig?
Posted on 2/3/14 at 1:46 pm to Tiger Ryno
Yes, but I'm afraid that there's just be more regulation around it.

The problem with the logical theory of legalizing "all" drugs is that humans procreate and babies in utero and after birth are greatly affected by the idiocy of their parents.
IMO, it is illogical and not real world possible to legalize all drugs and not have massive implications on the lives of said druggies' children.
Talk to someone (I am sure many on here) that grew up with alcoholic parents and see how that worked out for them. Think about how much worse it could have been if you subbed black tar heroin for beer.

Not true. I know a lot of people who don't do drugs (or don't do drugs often) because they are scared of getting arrested.
If they are dumb enough to want to try drugs, then Im sure there are plenty of other stupid things they do that are legal. You can't babysit people their entire lives. Ultimately, stupid people will do stupid things. You can't stop that no matter how hard you try.

dangerously addictive ones that lead to harder drugs

because this doesn't happen now since the drugs are illegal

I don't think it would be necessarily worse, just different.
Less physical beating and yelling, a lot more sleeping in

You are assuming that drug laws are not a deterrent for anyone...which is an idiotic assumption.
