Shooting star or Chinese Rocket?

Headed to work this morning at about 5:20ish, going south down LA1 headed to Plaquemine, LA. I saw what I guess was a shooting star, except I've never saw a shooting star like this before. Normally in my experience, you never see the actual "Star" part of a shooting star, just the streak across the sky. This was different, I saw what I guess was the star, it was bright red/orange and the tail was bright white and very long. It was very cool to see!!
Anyone else see that this morning?

I also saw it and was thinking shooting star, but the tail color was like I’ve never seen before. It also seemed to linger around for a bit.

Yep, exact same thing, about 40 degrees above the horizon, SSW of the LA coast.
Saw it plain as day, much larger presentation than a normal meteor with a tail that was larger and brighter than the moon and lingered long enough to stare at it and take its measure.
Was curious looking

Think I saw it too. Were you headed west when you saw it?
