I’m not a big drinker. I like my bourbon on the rocks, one or two tops, in the evenings, but only about 1-2 times a week.
Every once in a while, maybe 3-4x a year, I’ll get off dogs and pour a couple (I’m on number 2 right now).
Sitting here watching the replay of the game, enjoying a couple Col Taylor’s

If you work shift work, how often do you drink coming off a night shift (but gotta go back in 12 hrs)?

I don’t work shift work, but I’ve been on nights running a turnaround for a couple weeks now. Haven’t had a drop since it started. And I normally drink a good bit when I work a regular schedule. Seems weird to me to come home and drink alone. Although my safety guy brought me a bottle of Bloody Mary mix from Sugarfields this morning. I’m tempted to make me one.

Sometimes I'll buy a couple of tall boys for the drive home. Stores aren't supposed to sell alcohol before 6am but the hajis that run gas stations around here don't give a frick.

When I worked shifts and nights I still never really got into morning drinking. No judgment for people that do, but I felt like I was going to lose myself if I made it a consistent habit to drink in the morning after my shift.

I had maybe three shower beers a year after nights.

Most of the time. But only one light pour of bourbon or a shower beer. For me I have to be sleeping before the sun comes up or wife and kid start moving around or I will struggle to sleep that day.

When working t/a’s I’ll have one or two in the shower or after a really shitty dog shift

The only time I've ever drank off of dogs was to celebrate when Trump won. Other than that, I come home and pass out. Nights kill me.

Been working shift for 9 years now and I consider myself a big drinker and I’ve only done it once and it was because lsu baseball had their regional final at like 10am that morning so I stayed up for it. I don’t see how people do it on the reg, I’m ready to pass the frick out when I get home.

Cedarcrest lounge used to open at 7am and I know a lot of people would go over there after their last night shift. Not sure if it still does since it turned into a gay bar

Most destructive shift working mistake id make was sleeping all day Friday after getting off that last night shift Thursday. I’d wake up and be ready to party and since I slept all day I’d be wide open and end up drinking/partying till about 6am Saturday morning and the rest of my weekend would be shot and Monday morning work rolls around and you feel like a piece of shite lol

Back when I was a swing shift worker I used to get amused at the funny looks I would get at the convenience store from buying a six pack of beer and a little bag of peanuts at 8 in the morning

After an 8,10,14 hour flight, always on the flip side of my circadian clock, I’m having a beer or two to decompress before hitting the rack

44 years in and I have only had a drink after nights one time. Long TA where I was at the end of 35 shifts. Had one Negra Modelo during shower. Had a buddy who would drink a couple after every night shift. Dude, give your liver a break!

I'm a drunk, but never did drink when coming off of night shift (if I had to work again).

never in 33 years when I had to return.

Once a year when we got off just before Christmas. 2 drinks and I was done for the day.
