Whomever calculates, please put value on total picture including sales revenue generated by new jobs (3rd party / contractors etc), buying homes that adds RE taxes and helps lower overall per person rates, personal value opportunity that comes from self worth via a job, and many more…but I have a job to get back to.

Now what's their plan for the old Convent refinery that they refuse to sell?

Renewable fuels, some chemicals. Looking for some announcements in a couple of months.

Employed by Shell... but what about service companies and suppliers.

These guys always overshoot on these projections... if Shell is saying 12 perm jobs / 750 construction jobs you can reduce that by at least 1/3...

Also, a construction job is one guy spending one hour on the project.

This looks like a small expansion that will keep the plant running well and the locals get 4M a year to offset any additional issues caused by the plant.

Seems like overall a win-win.

It's supposed to be a complete new AO process unit. Not small at all.

They have been talking about Project Lotus for 3 years. I see the price tag has gone up $200 million in that time frame to

Lotus is dead. At least for Geismar. It was going to be a massive glycol unit. This new project will be the 5th AO unit at the site. It being just one unit added to an existing department, support staff are already in place. The permanent job creation will be primarily operations personnel.
