Exactly. There is pretty much zero reason for the mayor of a city to travel anywhere. Especially when there are so many urgent needs in the city.
All these “sister city” things are just an excuse to take a taxpayer funded vacation. They serve absolutely zero purpose.

Especially a sister city agreement in France or Switzerland. Now Somalia, I’d give her a pass.
