Not in a street fight. Your fighting systems go out the window and you are just trying to survive. Good luck trying to do all your fancy moves.

For the last time, is there video of Lee destroying another fighter like this?

There is none because he was an actor and not a fighter. I don't know why some here cannot understand this. Could Mark Wahlberg whip Tysons arse because he has been in a few boxing and action movies?

Wow.

Did Mark E. frickin' Mark dedicate his early life to martial arts and come up with his own style that is legendary?

We can only guess at how badass Bruce Lee was in a fight. We never saw it. He never tested himself in martial arts tournaments.

We don't have to guess with Tyson. We saw him leave bodies in his wake. He was a monster. A heavyweight champion. A psychopath.

That's the difference for me.

Same for me. I don't doubt anything about Lee's strength and speed but it was untested. Fighting also has a lot to do with instincts and some of those instincts you pick up from being battle tested. Lee was not as battle tested as Mike was.

For me, this is what seals it. Tyson is a criminally insane psychopath that is out to kill when he fights. Combine that with his speed, strength and pumped full of adrenaline, and I just don't see Lee taking him.

It was untested to the general public knowledge, but I suppose that's really all anyone could accept as an answer because otherwise it's hearsay. Everything else is but a story.

I concede that you have a good point.

PM was simply a quick money grab for Tyson who was broke coming out of jail and his pimp Don King.

I don't doubt that Lee was an incredible fighter and tactician. I don't doubt that he beat up scores of Chinese dudes on the street, but I don't think they had animals like Tyson coming after him.

That's what should have made this an intriguing discussion - rather than a polarized, metaphorical dick-measuring contest that it has become.

As a fan of both, I have tried to be objective in assessing their strengths and weaknesses. Tyson would likely not fare well in a stand-up fight - this is counter-intuitive, because the boxer should have the advantage. This fight would have to be close, and probably on the ground, for Tyson to win - unless we assume that Lee is stationary long enough for Tyson to deliver an uppercut or cross. Tyson rarely jabbed and the hooks he threw were typically in a combination where he or the target was out of position for a cross or uppercut - his preferred punches. Often he would sacrifice a good body blow or hook against a weakened opponent and set up an uppercut or cross.

Like I said earlier, a lot of those stories come off as propaganda put out by movie studios with a vested interest in Lee

yeah, I know. Was using the outlier. But there's plenty of them. Etienne, Williams, hell... Everybody he fought until he won the title.
