Hitler was a terrible military strategist. The people there were welcoming the Germans with open arms, all they had to do was not frick it up. The Nazis then went and did exactly that and they had to deal with partisans.
Then Adolf the Idiot sends his panzers elsewhere instead of going straight for Moscow, and we know the rest.

Nazi ideology prevented what you're saying they should have done. That way of thinking saw the Slavs as essentially subhuman. They genuinely considered Russians and Poles to be essentially at the same level as Jews. Letting them fight alongside Germans was unthinkable to the true believers, and unlike a lot of revisionist historians would want you to believe, a lot of the German high command were true believers.
There was no way they were ever going to do anything other than slaughterer those people. It was the whole purpose of the invasion.

This can't be said enough. The Whermacht put a lot of effort after the war finding others to blame for their failures and the holocaust.
Blame a few SS and SD brigades for murdering all the civilians while in reality almost all of the rear area was under control of Heer Security Divisions.
The Whermacht was also completely onboard with the entire gambit of Barbarossa, doubling down with Typhoon and then tripling down by foolishly pressing on in November even though the campaign had long passed it's culmination point.

Sort of a myth. 600,000 Hilfswilliger (Russians) fought with the Germans. At least 100,000 Ukrainians assisted the Germans with ant-partisan activities. There were Latvian, Estonian, and Lithuanian Legions.

True dat. The video above goes into a little bit of Hitler's plans for Russia and the eastern territories should they have defeated the Soviet Union. The people of those areas would have essentially been slave labor for the German people - minus the Jews, who would have all been exterminated in the death camps.

You’d think Hitler would have tried to keep his slaves alive, but with food being scarce he starved em to death and just replaced them with more slaves. Of course it became obvious and thus more behind the lines opposition was generated.
Hitler and the Nazis were doomed from day one. Their racist ideology didn’t allow them to operate in a practical manner.

Everyone always talks about the Gran use of “Blitzkreig”. But in reality what they themselves called their main strategy was “ Kesselschlacht” or “cauldron battle”. It was the concept of the Kesselschlacht that netted the Germans such massive hauls of prisoners during Barbarossa.
