Got the email yesterday that I was selected for an interview. From what a I understand it’s a 2 part interview where one part is focused on my background and the other is STAR based. Anyone have some tips or things I should be expecting?

Insist to be referred to by gender-less pronouns.

Tell them you post on OT at 0340am. You should be able to nail that Third Shift slot.

It’s the behavioral type questions. STAR stands for situation, task, action, result. Like tell us a time you faced a difficult situation and how you overcame it. Not an exact question, but things like that.

Ah...ok.

The STAR training I took years back taught you how to identify personality types. There are four and everybody has a major and minor.

Structured
Technical
Action
Relationship

I thought that would have been a little strange that this was part of your interview. Anyway, good luck with it man.

Email sent. Should be of some value. Be yourself, and don’t try to BS anyone, especially if there are any former/present operators on the interview team.

I’ve always understood STAR for the interviews I have done as:

Situation
Task
Action
Result

May be different for gas station attendants.

Always be closing! They won’t give you the job unless you ask for it.

I’d be careful on that couch. Look for stains if you know what I’m saying.
