PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Officials with a Florida school district say they are investigating an incident with a cheerleader that allegedly happened during a high school football game Friday.

According to the Pasco County School District, the entire cheerleading squad at Anclote High School took a knee during the national anthem as a form of protest. One of the cheerleaders claims she didn’t want to but was physically forced to do so.

As rumors about the incident swirl at the school, the district is investigating what exactly happened and if any policies were violated.

Right now, district officials say they’ve confirmed cheerleaders took a knee on the sideline during the national anthem before Friday night’s football game. The district said an assistant cheerleading coach took one cheerleader who said she didn’t want to take a knee by the arm and forced her to kneel.

While the district says kneeling doesn’t appear to be against school policy, physically forcing a student to do so is another matter. That’s why they say they’re investigating to find out exactly what happened.

Nothing will happen to this assistant, other than getting a phone call from some Democrat in support.

FTR, this high school is 65% white, 20 % Hispanic, 10 % black, yet 70% are considered "low income"

If this is on video, and everything kids do today is, the school board will have to fire the assistant as well as get out a blank check for the parents.

Why can’t 70% be considered low income?

When Pasco County was on Live PD, it was a trailer trash mecca. I wouldn’t doubt that parts of the county are poor

How is this a matter for the school to investigate? This is battery and criminal charges should be filed, if true, after a police investigation.

But it was never “forced”.

This is the correct answer. And I’m far.....VERY far from a litigious person, but a school system losing money is one thing that does speak very loudly to these communists.

A school employee uses physical force on a student and it is not a school matter?

lol, no.

If this assistant really physically forced someone to kneel, that assistant will be fired.

I would be surprised if fewer than 70% of Florida aren’t poor and trashy.
