@ianmSC
San Francisco has reached their highest positive testing percentage since testing became more widespread last April, so can we please stop pretending that only red areas in the South are seeing increases because it is a complete lie

How can this be?

They mask like crazy!

Impossible!

What’s their percentage of hospitalizations relative to cases?

I bet it’s lower than here

Operation Homekey is reliant upon FEMA paying for COVID relief. To keep homeless in hotels, they need to show COVID justification.

Not the point

The graphs of the covid waves tell a clear cut story

Covid 19 trends are 100% seasonal. 100%

Arizona and California couldn’t have been more different with their approach.

Their curves last 1.5 years have been identical

The only thing that is relevant is hospitalizations, deaths, and if people have access to the vaccine.

You act like that matters to anyone making decisions.

Also racist because our hospitalization rate is higher because we have so many more minorities relative to the total population.

Why around the election?

They said Thanksgiving, but the infection surged before thanksgiving

Honestly Seattle and Portland make SF look like a paradise right now. Been to all three cities for work this month and SF seemed relatively normal as before the pandemic except everyone was wearing a mask. Seattle and Portland look like something out of Dawn of the Dead at this point. It was just disgusting. With tents and homeless people out of their minds everywhere.

Covidians

People in prog circles on the west coast loathe the South. They still are living 60 years in the past.

Population density has to be a major factor. Mississippi has been the least vaccinated state for months and while we've had a spike in the last couple weeks, it looks nothing like our peak. But we also went months without a spike while at the same time saying "hell no" to the vaccine.

My wife and I took a trip to Portland a few years back because we heard it was such a cool city. We cut our trip short and flew home after 1 night, it was fricking disgusting.

I can’t imagine how bad it is now.
