What if I agree with the firing but don't think Sterling was murdered?

The majority of people on here who agree with his firing Do NOT believe Sterling was murdered.

I know thie is an uncommon trait, but some of us can separate the two.

Him being a "parasite" has no bearing on the fact that the officer overreacted.

Only one of the officers was relieved from his duties. Salamoni was fired because of how he handled the situation. Lake wasn't.

Salamoni has no one to blame for his firing but himself, just as Sterling has no one to blame for his death than himself.

AS ignored all previous commands, but you think he'll suddenly obey these? Not happening. He wasn't going down without a fight.

This doesn't have anything to do with this incident per se

He knew that he had a gun on him when he should not have... Yes he was drugged up plenty, but he IMO was also aware that I he got arrested he would have went to jail for A LONG LONG time.... If he had just NOT pulled the gun on the homeless guy.... I think he was woriied the guy was gonna out him as A dealer... I mean come on... Just look at ALL the drugs he had in his system at the time... Its unreal... That to me says drug dealing -not giving A frick POS ........

I don't think he was murdered. I think Salamoni escalated the situation unnecessarily and AS dug his own grave by not complying with an officer clearly very on edge. I think they both acted inappropriately. Not siding with Salamoni doesn't absolve AS's role in his own death. They can both be wrong.

Why was he on edge... But AS should have complied and maybe after Salimoni came in guns and mouth blaring AS was caught in a bit of a weird situation... I will still keep saying this no matter how many drugs were in his system that AS KNEW he was breaking the law just having a weapon on him and he went into freak out mode... The officer just made it a worse situation by coming in acting the way he did...

My guess is being in that neighborhood at night with a potentially armed suspect could be a bit nerve racking. That's a bad area of town to say the least.

The guy was a scumbag, no doubt about it. He was lucky he survived this long. However, it could have been handled better on both sides. Sterling was dead in about 1 minutes and 10 seconds from the moment the police arrived on the scene. I was surprised at how fast everything happened.

However, Lake arrived at the scene first and asked if Sterling could put his hands on the car and Sterling tried to walk away from him toward the store. That started a bad chain of events for Sterling. Salamoni was over the top from the moment he arrived at the scene, but if Sterling would have listened the first time Lake asked him, I fully believe he would be alive today.

I must say, my mind has changed from these videos.

Sterling was a POS human, but the way Salamoni got out yelling with his gun drawn and threatening to execute him is a bad look.

Situation was escalated from the start without good reason. Most likely would’ve resulted in a non-shooting without this.

Now, the shooting is arguably justified because he resisted and had a gun, but it could also be argued he was scared he was about to be executed due to Salamoni’s behavior and words.

Bad look all around, deserved to be fired and probably should’ve never been a cop if he couldn’t keep a cooler head in this situation.

Then let him. He's a huge man who you believe to be armed. Tackling him is an awful decision. It put both Salamoni and Lake at a disadvantage when they previously had the upper hand.
