He was always upbeat, looking forward to his career, new assignments, new challenges and LSU sports, of course.

I just don't understand what happened

most people i know with these issues won't exhibit them when they're occupied or stimulated, so if you experienced him in that zone then it's highly unlikely he'd ever display anything that would appear to be an issue

the problem comes when those aren't there, and how the person copes with THAT

*ETA: you don't seem to have these issues and seem legitimately curious so that's why i'm responding

Dang; always liked his posts on the MB; seemed to always be able to drop some knowledge. Sad news indeed. Hate to hear that's it's suicide; that despair that people must feel is tough to think about

Where does it say that it was suicide?

Not that it matters, because he is way to young to be gone regardless of the cause

i'm just talking about the S-word generally. i have no clue what THF was going through or if that's what happened. people are talking about the S-word and having problems with that possible angle and i'm just trying to talk about mental illness

He was always an upbeat guy with a great sense of humor. He seemed to enjoy life to the fullest. He always seemed busy and doing something fun. He was very successful at his job and was at a very high point with a bright future ahead. So sad to get this news, he was truly a great guy

Oh I agree

I just didn't know if I missed something because the consensus seemed to be it was suicide

well people seem to know him/his family and they're not really disputing that

a 29 year old just randomly dying can only be a few things. potential un-diagnosed medical issue, suicide, or substance abuse-related stuff

That's what I'm being told. And there is a poster here whose mil was his (THF) neighbor ... Not a good situation at all.

Younger brother found him. I worry about him -- either a sophomore or junior in college (think it's sophomore).

You should worry about him. I lost my best friend almost three years ago to suicide. He found his younger brother who did the same. Also, both of their parents committed suicide. It is so sad when anyone does this and their struggles are so dark that they see no way out. My friend left a wife and two sons behind. I think about him every single day. More so today than most.

RIP THF..

Ruskie, you're a good dude and I and others here (hypothetically and in reality) owe you a beer (or a reasonable facsimile) for your work here and your wonderful attitude.

Terrible news about Flask, the only takeaways from S are for those who are having any related thoughts to seek help and for those who suspect anyone close to them of having those kinds of thoughts to reach out to them.

RIP

When he first went to work at his bank after getting his MBA he wrote and told me he would be "in training" to be a credit analyst for 18 months. Then he wrote to let me know the bank promoted him after just 6 months and made him a senior credit analyst. Having gone through that type of career path myself, that told me he was on the fast track for advancement and the sky was the limit for him either at his bank or at another institution. I joked with him about him being the president of a bank soon. He was humble about it and replied that he still had so much to learn and was going to complete his CFA program (which he just did a few weeks ago) and he thought that would prepare him for more challenges and opportunities in the finance sector.

I truly regret that we never met.

Is that in Henry? If it is then I've met you before because I watched Morris hit that home run in a bar at a boat landing in Henry. Just can't remember the name.
