You mean to tell me that the best, brightest, hardest working most upstanding citizens dont go into the business of committing insurance fraud and extortion of illegal aliens and capitalizing on peoples misfortune after tragic natural disasters?????

I am shocked

They are fine where I live. I'm sure LA has some shady ones though.

The company I used will not give me an invoice. I am waiting to pay them the last payment, once I receive the invoice. They are playing games with state farm of course.

After a storm, a guy from Ryson Roof stopped by my house on a cold call. Gave me the sales pitch that they will get insurance to pay. I said sure. He said “ok sign this paper that says no matter what the insurance gives you, you will guarantee we do the roof.”

I told him I’m not signing a contract until I know the price. What if insurance only agrees to 20% of the cost? Then I have a signed contract saying I gotta pay him. He threw a tantrum and said that’s how they all do it. He whined about how it screws his company. I told him I wasn’t trying to screw him, but I’m not signing if I don’t know the price. He basically told me I was an idiot and good luck and left.

The next week, I had Coleman Roof come out. They laughed at the contract and said they don’t need anything. I said I can’t guarantee I’ll get a roof if insurance doesn’t pay. That said it’s all good and they won’t charge me a penny unless the insurance pays for it all. Sure enough, they got insurance to come through and they did the roof. I’ll never use another roofing company other than Coleman.

You can literally get fricked over by the underlayment, or so I’ve been told.

I’ve used Ryson. The contract obligates you to use them if the insurance accepts the claim, and your out of pocket cost for replacement is capped at your deductible. The whole purpose for using them is to convince your insurer to replace your roof.

Roofing companies

There is your problem. Go with a solo guy. I went with some solo roofing guy out of Kenner, most likely a drug dealer, and he got the job done quickly and did not rape me on the charge. Hand nailed everything too. Did a good job. Roofing company wanted to charge me almost double and tried to pressure me into signing over the claim to them lol
