FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WPMI) — Fairhope police released a photo showing a man pulling a gun during an apparent road rage incident in Fairhope today.

Police say the incident started at a traffic light heading southbound on Greeno Road around 2:00 p.m.

Police say 23-year-old Maurice Mayo of Mobile got out of a Toyota Sedan to argue the driver of a red hatchback.

Police say the hatchback driver jumped onto the hood of the Toyota, smashing the vehicle's windshield with his foot.

Officers say Mayo then got a gun out of the car and pointed it at the hatchback driver. Police released an image of that incident.

Mayo was arrested on a charge of carrying a pistol without a permit.

I saw a road rage incident on airline hwy last week. I was certain fists or bullets were about to fly. I looked around at all the other surrounding cars and every other car had people filming the incident.

I knew then I was born too early to ever think of taking out my phone to film a shite storm.

What a complete bull shite arse arrest.

This is why people hate the police and then the police Anna cry and say blame the law makers.

For any officers out there, don’t be a fricking douche bag and arrest a guy for defending his property from someone with road rage

He was arrested for illegally having his gun on him. I'm not sure of the circumstances but I'm going to guess he didn't have a carrying case or anything so he has no evidence he was doing anything but conceal carrying. Without a license to conceal carry, I'm gonna say he should be in trouble.

He has bone spurs in his rotator cuff and was trying to alleviate the shoulder pressure if he had to fire.

He was just finna turn it sideways, because that is how it comes in the box.

Don't know about Alabama but in Louisiana you don't need a license to carry a firearm in your vehicle and it clearly states that he got the gun out of his car...

So I am thinking you are mistaken
