Met Mike in real life at his store in Nashville and he was an enormous prick.
I met him too and funny thing, he said the same thing about you.

recognized a bunch of stuff in the store from the show and it was LUDICROUSLY priced.
Heaven forbid they make money. They do negotiate.

Do you work for him or something?

I've had my account of him being a prick backed up by several people that have interacted with him at length.

And I don't mean the stuff was overpriced, I mean that the stuff was several orders of magnitude more expensive than it should have been. If it hadn't been from the show it wouldn't sell at all, I'd imagine. I am always looking in stores like that and at rural estate sales.

Maybe they didn't need the sales due to the success of the TV show so they just put "frick you" prices on stuff to see if people bite.

Pretty sure he had drinking and or drug problems. Definitely a drinking problem.

Bad back might have gotten him on drugs. They mention him battling "addictions".

I had heard that the show was 90% fake. All those shows are. They might be entertaining, but fake. Living in Waco I can literally tell you Fixer Upper was 99% made up

That may be true, but Chip and Jo have some real money.

It must be the stardom that goes to their head. I had a similar run in with stars from Pawn stars. It’s sad that they become different people.

I'm sure they do. Convincing some gullible homeowners that it costs $10k+ to dig a new drain line and hook up to a septic tank can lead to some damn good earnings.

Oil cans, Marx tin toys and the bundle...the guy is legend. Thoroughly enjoyed his expertise and down home personality to offset Mike's insane ego and bike fetish

Didn't they have a falling out of some sort?

I could be wrong, this might not be accurate because I can't remember where I read it, but I remember reading something that sort of insinuated Frank was fighting an addiction.

While I watched the show from time to time, there are probably more episodes I haven't watched than I have watched, at least based on their TV personality Frank seemed like he would be a likable, sit down and have a conversation type. The other one seemed like he needed Adderall.

I like when homeowners act surprised to see the pickers at their door, and the pickers have to talk their way in.

Uhhhhh, there is a cameraman filming from inside your damned house when you answer the door; quit pretending.

Which one of them would crawl over a ‘69 Boss Mustange and have a conniption over a stupid 1950’s wind up toy or bicycle? Who gives a shite about that? They would have actual classic cars sitting in the barn but would freak out over stupid arse shite like a gas sign or some dumb shite. I watched a few years but that episode oossed me off so bad. The poor dead dude seemed nicer than the skinny prick but I hated that show with quickness. RIP toy lover dude.

My favorite one is when Frankie rode the old Exercycle.

Mike's intolerable and maniacal laughter almost ruins the moment. RIP Frank
