In Louisiana, let's say there is a doctor's office who is notorious for writing excuses for work and school without even seeing a patient. I'm fairly positive that the doctor himself is not writing them, but someone in the office is doing it.

To whom and how do you report this?

Is it even worth the time? What would the OT do?

ETA: The kids I am worried about are special needs kids, and their parents are using them to pill shop. They are missing a ton of school and are already behind being special needs. Missing this much school is detrimental to them.

Bet these docs do a lot of Medicaid. Call the state. It could be fraud.

Let's tackle the opiate prescriptions first and then tackle the illegitimate school note epidemic.

Thanks for a real answer. The problem is no one is signing them, but when we call to verify the excuse, the office calls us back and verifies it. The problem is, the date they put on some of the excuses, the kids are in school.
