Louisiana Launches Tip Line to Accuse Librarians of ‘Sexualizing Children’
Searched, no luck. Please delete if previously discussed

The website is being launched amidst right-wing efforts to ban LGBTQ books and smear allies as ‘groomers.’

On Tuesday, the attorney general of Louisiana launched an online form encouraging residents of the state to report librarians who they suspect of stocking sexually explicit books—or anything else they might object to being seen by their kids.

...well, my line in the sand was apparently books.
Any kid who enjoys reading should have the ability to read any book he or she wishes.
Keep the mentally ill trannies away, but censoring books is insanity.
I vividly remember the first book I ever read that wasn't age appropriate.
I was in 6th grade. It was the first autobiography on the shelf at the Iberville library. I was curious if anyone had ever started at the first and finished all of them.
The book is very dark. And at one point, his childhood friends are prostituted. Young boys molested amd paid in trinkets amd snacks. It didn't make me want to be molested. It made me feel sympathy for discarded youth a world away. His struggle out of poverty was inspirational.
For such a work to be banned... That is disgusting.

This seems a little reactionary. Is this really the best recourse?

You want to talk slippery slopes, book banning is one of the biggest.

Public libraries should be open to all things, classics and garbage. School libraries and texts in school curricula...not so much. All this "banning" talk is just dramatics. Keep it out of the schools, don't "ban" anything.

Stupid is as stupid does. How will they know none of the mfers can actually read and comprehend shite, and almost none of them have read the Bible. You want to know how bad it is, I was tested in Louisiana in like 5th -6th grade I had one of the highest reading comprehension levels in the state at like 2nd college level. People be dumb

Tut is a bonafide Louisiana genius but just a bit smarter than average bear in most states

Let citizens decide what they read, act upon, desire...not bureaucrats, religious zealots, or Karens.

The reporting form was created as part of a failed investigation by Attorney General Jeff Landry that aims to find any books on library shelves that violate Louisiana statutes. The investigation hasn’t turned up any illegal material, but rather than admit defeat, Landry is pandering to conservative parents’ worst nightmares by soliciting tips from the public to unveil what he describes as “the taxpayer-subsidized sexualization of children.”
Landry sure knows how to play the simpletons for a fool. Bravo to our next Governor

I do not know how this gets down voted or how we have not learned our lesson on this.

What's a bigger problem in Louisiana? Groomer librarians or shite roads, trash throughout the state and the education system?
This is bullshite politicians do to keep everyone's attention away from the fact they don't get anything worth a frick done.
