They have insurance. Maybe they’ll think twice about rebuilding in such a place where natural disasters are so common.

You really should. I don't wish fire on anyone.

Orange County hasn’t been or voted conservative in a decade at least. It’s not 1994

Yes and as I have said on here numerous times, OC and Riverside each have baws in them more redneck than in the South.

I can't get down with cheering on people losing their homes. That being said, if anyone can afford to absorb having to pay for a hotel until they can get their insurance to kick in, it's people in Laguna, so they're better off than alot of people around here after a hurricane.

I didn't say that. I said overall they are pretty conservative and I meant that relative to the rest of CA and stand by that. It is closer to 50/50 there than in either of the Counties they are sandwiched between.

Fair enough.

And regardless, like others have said I wish fire on no one.

Regardless of political affiliation, that really sucks and I can’t imagine all of my things being burned up in a fire. With hurricanes/floods, at least you have a little time to grab a few personal effects/sentimental items to save before hitting higher ground.

We need to keep in mind that this one will get more news coverage, but there are a lot of people who are suffering the same loss of property in other areas. This fire season is already terrible. Northern New Mexico can't catch a break. They've faced days now of Critical or Extreme fire dangers. It is just a bad situation all around.

It's actually Laguna Niguel where the fire is, about 2 miles from where I lived many moons ago.
