Why would you want to conceal a rifle in your own home?

A gun isn't a toy? You clearly are trolling or just delusional

Yeah I am seeing a ton of shootings. Boston has a very large population and several very nice parts that help delute the numbers.

I lived in Quincy for years and Framingham for several more (South Framingham/Ashland is another part of the state that is dangerous while North Framingham/Natick are beautiful).

You could live in MA most of your life and never lock your doors and be perfectly safe. Cape Cod, Cambridge, Wellesley all jump to mind) but the same could be said for Louisiana. South of Flordia Blvd in Baton Rouge is significantly safer than North of it. Crime maps show this.

Eh,

The only reason I don't is because of cost and the fact that a concealed carry permitted useless up here. Every business has signs on it barring it. It's $215 for the class to get the permit on top of the grand for the weapon.

But I don't think is feel particularly safer. I strongly doubt anyone's going to break into my studio apartment on the 9th floor and if I was concealed carrying in public , I'm experienced enough to know that me actually using the gun would be a problem 7!out of 10 times.

I do carry a legal knife on me when I'm not taking public transport. My biggest day to day danger is belligerent homeless people and the mentally ill (this city is so bankrupt they closed down the mental health facilities letting lose all the sick people into the street.Andbevenbthen unreel pretty safe as i only travel on busy streets.

What? People were killing for gas after the hurricane.

You don't think arming your self would help you if some men wanted to take your shite from you and your family?

Go take some classes and strap up.

Not sure if you live in Athens, but here is a tidbit bout Kennesaw.

quote:

KENNESAW, Ga - Several Kennesaw officials attribute a drop in crime in the city over the past two decades to a law that requires residents to have a gun in the house. In 1982, the Kennesaw City Council unanimously passed a law requiring heads of households to own at least one firearm with ammunition. The ordinance states the gun law is needed to "protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants." Then-councilman J.O. Stephenson said after the ordinance was passed, everyone "went crazy." "People all over the country said there would be shootings in the street and violence in homes," he said. "Of course, that wasn't the case." In fact, according to Stephenson, it caused the crime rate in the city to plunge. Kennesaw Historical Society president Robert Jones said following the law's passage, the crime rate dropped 89 percent in the city, compared to the modest 10 percent drop statewide.

If you supported the 2A as you say you do, then you would already know the reasons why an AR15 is protected under the Constitution and perfectly legitimate to own for numerable reasons, one being defense against tyranny.

I carry a 12ga with me in certain areas for protection against specific hairy, foul beasts that roam these parts. Never had to use it but have been bluff charged. Never know when it might become real.

Yeah, that never happened. Fights and maybe some brandishing, but nobody got killed over gas.

One big problem there was that cops took over 98% of gas stations. We gave one by us, that was under police control, a generator for their pumps. We had free gas until they got electricity came back and the PD paid for it.

I may never need to use a gun and I hope I don't, but as someone alluded to I would just feel safer when I go to sleep at night if I had one near my bed. I also wouldn't mind having one for snakes and stuff, because I am not coming close enough to a snake to use a shovel. Sorry not sorry

I live in Chicago. I was lucky enough to find a budget apartment in the ultra wealthy neighborhood that just is generally almost completely crime free. It's not completely safe (the metro stops are rough at night and actually someone was assassinated at the metro stop closest to me 3 weeks ago) I think it's pretty well understood that crime in my neighborhood is unacceptable and every Friday and Saturday night, there will be 6 or more cops per city block in that neighborhood. I feel more in danger when I'm in the financial district in the evening or river north at night which are als considered low crime areas.

You don't have a point here. Nothing you have said in this thread is even remotely relevant. Stop being the little attention whore you usually are and go read a good book.

Somebody once told me that they chose to live their life in a non-violent way when asked if they owned a gun.

I like my safety better.

Honestly, no.

I don't dislike guns, and in my day job I represent a firearms dealer. All of my in-laws are avid hunters and all own multiple handguns as well. My father and his father were avid hunters, but it was something my father and I never shared.

I also support the 2nd Amendment fully.

I've just never in my 46 years been in any situation where I personally felt any way threatened enough to have a gun on or near me for personal protection. And as I'm nut a hunter, I have no real need for anything else.

I don't own one, but I have shot them. I am seriously thinking about getting one or sixty.
