Governor John Bel Edwards has announced an expansion to the list of people who qualify to receive a COVID vaccine.

The governor made the announcement at a press conference held in Baton Rouge Tuesday, March 9.

Edwards made the announcement as the number of people in the state who have received one or both shots of the vaccine is growing rapidly with the help of increased supply and mass vaccination sites.

Why list obese and overweight? Wouldn’t overweight cover both?

Sadly I’m not obese or smoke and I’m in my 30s so I have to wait. Maybe I should go smoke 1 cig so I can be eligible

PSA: Walgreens and CVS are just sitting on vaccines all over Baton Rouge. If you're a dumbass and want to go get it, regardless of your age or any other consideration, they will most likely give it to you.

I mean won’t you just be checking boxes any way. It’s not like when you show up, they are going to have a scale to weight you.

Obease was previously listed so they left it.

Just need to be overweight now. A good portion of the population is technically overweight.

Like I said earlier, I’m sure it’s just going to be a checkbox. It’s not like they will be waiting with a scale when you show up.

Not until the current EO for Phase 3 ends March 31. April 1, 2021 will likely be the day that everything opens.

It for sure won’t be everything.
And the dumb arse will probably keep the mask mandate for a few more months after this

Another is if you were a former smoker, how could they possibly prove this?

ETA: it says you have to fill out some online attestation form, so basically they are just taking your word for it.

if I had to guess, he'll extend the current EO another 3 weeks

he has yet to NOT extend any EO at least once, so that's why I think we will be in "Phase 3" for March and most of April
