PSA if you are passing through Memphis anytime soon

Some threads on food got me thinking
Anyway there is a restaurant in the absolute hood of Memphis (Whitehaven) called Uncle Lou’s. I honestly can tell you it is my favorite restaurant and if I were on death row it would be my last meal request.
It is fried chicken but a variety I haven’t really seen elsewhere. Kinda like wings they just dip the whole breast/thigh/whatever in the secret “sweet spicy love” sauce. It is hard to describe how good it is but just trust me.
Anyway the virus hit the place hard and like many establishments it seems like Lou is having a hard time keeping help and staying in business. This seems shocking to me with how good it is but I don’t know all his business dealings. So I come here to tell you please enjoy this treasure while it is around and maybe enough people will get the word out that it needs to be saved.

How does it compared to Gus’s? I will be going to Little Rock in a couple weeks and saw they had a Gus’s and thinking of trying that.

He has all kinds of shite that is awesome like fish sandwiches, burgers, and bologna sandwiches (like half inch thick cut). These items can only be enjoyed by locals though since they can go often, because I can’t recommend anything other than the chicken for out of towners. It would be criminal

It blows Gus’s out of the water. I’ll tell you there is a running joke with hardcore Memphis locals that Gus’s is overrated and sucks (not necessarily true) because uncle Lou’s is so much better (absolutely true).
And for those being scared of the hood I’ll tell you that it is so good usually the clientele is at least half white because it’s so good. It’s kinda like a demilitarized zone
