It's foolish, but at least there are a lot of cheap electric options out there.

Two more Bay Area cities took sides in the region’s long-running crusade against gasoline-powered leaf blowers in recent weeks, with officials in Novato and Hayward moving toward banning the contraptions, increasingly derided as noise, smoke-belching nuisances.

Oakland, too, has vowed to get serious about enforcing its rules against their use.

And the entire war may swiftly come to a head if a state Assembly bill seeking to ban new leaf blower sales statewide wins approval.

And those same idiots will tell everyone to turn up their AC to 80 and not charge their lawn equipment because the grid can't handle it.

fricking morons

They are annoying, but I can't believe the CA gov. is being so racist against all the hispanic grass cutters and such in their state.

I use battery powered weed eater and blowers but that's it. Zero turn with enough battery power to cut my whole yard on one charge isn't affordable if it's even out there. One neighbor down the street has an electric push mover, dude let the grass get about 3 or 4 inches high with all the rain, when he tried to cut the thing made it about 3 passes and died.

Well not yet they aren't.

Honest question: how loud are battery-operated ones?

Also, are they assuming that batteries are made from clean, environment-friendly sources? Because if they are, I have some bad news...

Electric mowers work pretty well. I’ve had one about 5 years

The industry is changing.
Price and battery longevity per use is there for small yards not larger yards.
It will take a few more years before you see a huge shift in battery powered lawn tractors and zero turns. They have them now they just have small annoying kinks in them or quirks.

How well do they work on 4-6 inch high wet grass? Because that's what I've been dealing with for the last month or so, every week.

Same, I'm not messing with the whole yard on an electric mower.

They do have some that are powerful.
It’s the battery longevity says 1.5 hours when in the real world .45 minutes.

Then the price is double the price of gas.
I know you pay for it upfront as you do not have to buy gas, change oil, etc.

Then you have to trouble shoot with a computer which hooks to the VCM which stores codes from the BMS and electric motor modual.

So far the ones I sold it has been sensors due to being stored outside in the rain nothing major.
