Navy AND Marine Corps have Baby Hornets (the older, smaller F/A-18C's and D models). Only the Navy has the newer, larger Super Hornet (E and F models).

Easiest way to tell them apart: look at the intakes. The older legacy Hornets have the smaller, rounded intakes, the Supers have the larger trapezoid shaped intakes.

you sure they were F18s? they looked like F15s to me. they were pulling some pretty tight turns just circling around flying like they had to burn some jet-A.
