President Tate’s LSU Med grad address-exhaustive analogy of Med degree to hip hop culture

Incredibly shallow. Sounded like a typical 3rd year college student essay desperately trying to connect dots that are not logically connectable. Not impressed ….. at all.

So you’re saying he’s a bad tiger?

Can you give us some cliffs here? Like were were some key points in the analogy?
Is becoming a great surgeon hard as rising to stardom for an aspiring hip hop artist? I could see the probabilities being similar.

Uh... Okay. The Industrial Revolution to me is just like a story I know called "The Puppy Who Lost His Way." The world was changing, and the puppy was getting... bigger. So, you see, the puppy was like industry. In that, they were both lost in the woods. And nobody, especially the little boy - "society" - knew where to find 'em. Except that the puppy was a dog. But the industry, my friends, that was a revolution.

Tate is fantastic. I've listened to him talk several times. You probably caught him on a bad day.
I've heard him talk about
the nonsense of renaming buildings
people complaining but never talking to him about the problem (reference to the shite poster Robert Mann)
Just heard him talk about how LSU is failing graduate students by pushing them into research rather than giving options for training them to work in the private sector
He's always given me the impression that he knows what state he is in and how to navigate the waters to maximum benefit of LSU

Agree. Tate came in under a giant cloud of skepticism and misguided hate.
But he's doing really well for LSU thus far.

I’m here too and was surprised at how bad it was. Hip hop artists, dj’s, breakdancers and graffiti artists … plus something about rewriting history. It ended with Eminem song lyrics.
It was bizarre and completely uninspiring. Based on some comments here about how impressive this guy was, I was expecting a bit more.

If it weren’t for hip hop culture there would not be so many bodies to put back together for those graduates.

Funny, that's exactly what his CRT paper read like.

His bad days must be the norm then.
Read this pile of shite and then reassess.

So you read it?

Yes, back when he was announced as the new president.
The paper is lazy at best. I'll see if i can find my posts and quotes, but essentially, the paper just starts out assuming the ills of black people are 100% due to white racism. In the paper, that was a given. IT never explained how they came to that conclusion just sort of a "we all know white racism is why blacks can't succeed", and then went into academic word salad that didn't really say anything.

Actually if you have a link to the paper, I'd appreciate it if you could post it. I'd like to check it out myself.

I like his tenure at LSU (so far), but he can be horrific at this kind of thing. Usually not bad, but sometimes really rough.
He's doing well for LSU so far.

I did. It's linked the post you responded to on the first page.
Hint: You'll see a lot of blame on "whiteness".
Check out page 5, middle paragraph. He suggest that class and gender doesn't explain the difference in academic achievement of minorities enough, so it MUST be race. And then trails off again into nothing-speak.

You have to praise him from the rooftops. Because someone in a position to hire the next President of Joe's Cow and LGBT college is going to remember this fine man and they'll hire him away from you.
