Post Office employees, worst employees in gov’t employment?

I bought a huge collection of movie posters that I’ve been selling on a movie poster page on FB. Over the last couple days, I’ve shipped to Australia, Canada, and Ireland, $30 was the most expensive to Australia.
Today, I go to ship a tube to Bangkok. It weighs 1 lb 9 oz. I bring it to the post office and she says it’s $59 postage with Priority. I tell her I don’t want to send Priority. She claims (argues) that Priority is the only way to ship it since it’s over one pound. I ask to see the computer list of ways to ship it. She won’t let me, told me it’s Priority or nothing.
I didn’t cuss her out (as much as I wanted to), and take my shite and leave.
I go to the other post office, I shipped it for $25, first class international.
I should have gone back and showed the bitch how wrong she was.
/end rant

No, that title goes to rank and file employees in any division of New Orleans' city government.

That would be politicians.
At least the post office employees get something done.

I’ve never had a problem with the DMV. I’m usually in/out in 20-30 mins

My mother and I were discussing this exact thing this morning. She’s partial to the PO bc my grandpa retired from there - but they really screwed her over last time she sent her friend a package. They’re just jerks.

No. The IRS, SEC, FBI, and EPA exist.
The FBI is still spending millions of dollars trying to find people that were at the capitol. And I think capitol protestors were idiots.

ATF, FBI & CIA are duking it out for the top spots.

I see your DMV and raise you an IRS auditor.

I had a PO worker tell me it was going to cost like $40 to send a package. She was adamant. She used their scales and supposedly figured it up. Usually, I printed my own postage and everything. I had already done that with this package and had the $8.25 postage on it, and was just dropping it off to ship. She told me she couldn't do it, and I would have to pay the "correct postage" that her machine told her. We had words and I left.
I then went back online and scheduled a mail carrier pickup for the next day. I kept the same postage on it. My carrier picked it up, and said it was no problem. The package arrived just fine, on time, with no refusals or whatever.
The people behind the counter are the lowest IQ folks the USPS has on the payroll.

Isn’t it ironic that the ones we view as the worst government employees are the ones we have to interact with most; postal workers, DMV, etc...?

anyone mention OSHA "I Gotta Find SOMETHING" Inspectors?

Our local post office gives good service (though there is one employee who is somewhat of a stiff).

I owed the IRS, they sent me an envelope with statement of how much I owed, and that it must be sent to that office.
I did.
One month later, it was returned to me marked not a valid address etc. Took it to my local post office who checked and found that it was, in fact, a valid address. They tore the taped on paperwork off, and resent it. Took about ten days for it to be returned.
Post Office (local) put it in one of their big envelopes with signature required on delivery, etc. at the expense of the post office for this fancier remail.
That one went through.
It was the frickin' IRS envelope and they demanded that it be sent to that address ON their envelope and the post office couldn't make it work.

My local post office has its issues with delivery because they can’t keep rural carriers. They don’t even make an attempt at my house because of how long my driveway is. They just leave a note telling me to come and pick the package up
That said, I have never had an issue at my local post office and everyone working there is friendly and helpful. I don’t think they work on any sort of commission, so it’s strange that she wouldn’t allow you to ship any other way.

brewhan davey --- this poster knows the truth. I would love to be elected mayor of New Orleans for no other reason than to terminate every one of those people. They are the sorriest excuses for human being on the face of the earth.
