When Kentucky was evaluating what taxes had dropped during COVID-19, one of the only ones that didn’t was our alcohol tax. It actually produced higher revenue than usual.

My liquor store was doing gangbusters from March through the Fall. Far more than normal. The owner told me they were doing Christmas level volume of liquor and wine sales (highest of the year) in April and he was able to double his staff and give bonuses.

Drinking alone at home is for losers

Well I am definitely a loser because I prefer drinking alone at home, or just with the wife.

Also though, I'm not talking about pounding 12 Natty Lights at home by myself. I'm talking one or two IPA's.

Self reporting survey = garbage

With that said, I drank slightly more. Pre-pandemic I would have 1 beer or sometimes 2 on thursdays and then drink several on the weekend. During pandemic I started drinking bourbon on thursdays and it crept up to 3 pours.
