The photo was first posted to Instagram with the caption, "These 2 young girls were looking for a place with Wi-Fi to do their school work so they sat near Taco Bell to connect to the free Wi-Fi."
Salinas City Elementary School District released a statement later the same day saying the students go to a school in its district and that school officials had worked to get them help.
"We immediately identified the students belonging to SCESD, and since then, have provided the family with a hotspot so that our students can safely access classroom instruction from home," reads a statement from the school district.

Salinas is a heavily asian (Filipino) community, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Sometimes struggle makes you stronger. Why is our society so adverse to anything uncomfortable?
That’s why the next generation is so weak. OMG they had to go to Taco Bell for free WiFi!
The fact that they have a laptop to learn from a school that they pay nothing for and the ability to get free WiFi to look up anything in the world uncensored immediately makes them more affluent than 99% of the world.
