A pedestrian died Thursday after being pinned between a parked car and a work truck that was backing into a driveway in San Jose, police said.
The collision happened at about 8 a.m. along the 1200 block of Lennon Way, according to police.
Citing a preliminary investigation, police said a man driving the work truck pulled up to a house that is under construction to unload supplies. As the truck driver began to reverse, he hit a car that had stopped behind him, continued reversing into the driveway and then hit the pedestrian, pinning the pedestrian between the back of the truck and a parked car in the driveway.

Didn't notice he was pushing a car?

Hope this wasn’t one of those horrible situations where the guy was still alive until they unpinned him. That’s always freaked me out

When I was in college I worked in the Maintenance dept. of the local hospital during the summers. While I worked there, they brought a guy in to the ER that was a DOT engineer. He was standing behind his trunk with his back to traffic looking at plans in the truck bed. A car drifted off the road at hit him full speed basically amputating his legs on the spot. I'm not sure but I think he was DOA. But that wasn't the awful part.
The awful part was they had a small chapel off the ER where they brought his wife and family. The wailing of his wife when the on duty pastor told her he was gone will haunt me until my dying day. They were simply blood curdling.

This is really confusing, so to confirm
1) Truck backs into car in the road
2) Bounces off that car and continues backing into driveway
3) Hits pedestrian
4) Pins pedestrian between his truck and a second car, this one in the driveway?
So the truck driver, driver of car #1, and pedestrian all had no clue whatsoever what was going on and did nothing as it happened? I mean, I imagine the guy wasn't backing up at 40 mph.

This reminds me of a story my dad told me. He working at some kind of plant and some guy got his entire lower half crushed. I don’t really remember exactly what it was but my understanding was it was some kind of giant metal plate that snapped free from a crane. The guy was alive and conscious and they were able to get his family in to say their goodbyes before they lifted it off and he was gone

Was the pedestrian in the port-o-potty?
