Are there parking lots anywhere near St Charles and Napoleon during Mardi Gras? Usually hang out near the Pontchartrain Expressway, but that area is sketchy so looking to move to a little bit more family friendly area to watch the parades. Never gone that far down St Charles before.

I know, its New Orleans, but would that be a safer area in general?

A number if the schools and churches sell parking spots as fundraisers. A bonus is you often get a bathroom pass.

St. Stephens does this. Parking, concession stands, and bathroom bracelets. Super family friendly area.

Your car will be fine, but no parades passing there

So, in general, pretty safe area?

That area is the safest you will find. It also gets very crowded. Lots of families and lots of ladders.

Safest because that is where the parades start so kinda boring

Walk back to St. Charles for a little more going on.

Just rent a room at one of the hotels along the Avenue and you get a secure parking spot with the room

How hard is it to find a spot to stand on St Charles down that way? Like is it difficult because of all the ladders or not bad if you get there early on?

That is the best place to watch. Actually Napoleon is better if the parade is starting at Tchoup. If you come early enough, there is street parking further uptown not too far from the route.

I haven't been in 2 years. Check St. Stephens website to make sure they are back up and running after covid. I haven't been there in years because we have gotten hotel rooms for quite a while due to health issues. I can't spend all day on the street anymore

Question to that would be...what is a good hotel to stay at in that area?

Currently booked at a Hilton in Metairie...hence the reason I'm asking about parking

Hampton Inn on st Charles near Louisiana Ave would be the best bet.
