That’s bs they’ll reopen in time or somebody else will. NYC is too much of a shopping hub to not

Let's see if NY will elect another democrat mayor and continue to elect Nadler and his friends.
If they do, they deserve what is happening to them.
It's sad. Because NYC used to be such an incredible place.

Can’t loot what’s not there.

So.. is rent going to be cheaper?

But their federal bailout will be tight!

Landlords and banks will take a major haircut. Wall Street funds will swoop in and buy assets at a major discount hoping that a reduction in price per square foot will encourage new tenants
Not sure how small businesses are going to have enough access to capital to fill in all the empty spaces

Now do commercial real estate followed by residential real estate. CRASH ahead.

Don’t blame them one bit. It must be expensive as hell to operate a store there and you’re only one riot away from losing it all when some thugs come to loot it

Probably. It's like 30 years old. At some point, everyone's seen it.

People enjoy shopping in actual stores, so I don’t think they are going anywhere. The minute a vaccine is created for this damn virus, things will get back to the way people like them.

And more than a third of NYC apartment leases haven't been paid since March.

Bezos and Co. will catch the slack.

You just hate to see it. Let's see that jackass of a mayor cry and beg the money folk to come back again. He's realized who really pays the bills in that city.
The others will learn soon enough.

Cities, particularly commercial and retail hubs of cities, that are reliant upon sales tax for staying afloat can cater to the poor, shite stirrers of the populace only for so long.
When the environment of lawlessness and instability starts to legitimately threaten people's money, they will leave and take that money elsewhere. When that happens, those in charge have a hard choice to make. The vocal minority isn't paying the bills, and it never will.
