It's a trashy alien cruise.

It is amazing to me that we can even detect this thing.

Yep. 100 yards is almost nothing in the solar system

It's a piece of ore that ran into a rock and bounced in a random-looking direction. No radio signals or little green men were emitted.

I’d prefer it if aliens not show up just now. If they see the state of our civilization now they may not be back again for millions of years.

One of my favorite things about properly done science fiction is when they accept that spaceships do not need aerodynamic designs unless they ever need to enter an atmosphere.
Ever hit a bird in a jeep vs a sports car giving it a glancing blow that doesn't grenade it?

Could you imagine the mass hysteria if it returned?
Well, amongst the astronomy community. Everyone else will be busy with their stimulus checks.

I’m calling bullshite because of this statement right here. You mean to tell me they tracked this thing for 11 fricking days and couldn’t get one clear picture, with all the fricking telescopes, satellites, international space station, etc and they couldn’t get one goddamn clear picture. Bull fricking shite.
Pretty simple explanation, it is relatively small, and far away, even with the best telescopes it can only be resolved to a fuzzy patch of light which can be easily tracked, the rough size, and shape can be estimated, but no surface detail can be made out. As the article states they are guessing that the surface may be metallic just from the amount of light that was reflected.

f aliens are so smart, then why did they shape that craft to look like doo doo?
Smart enough to know that the craft can be an asteroid, which serves as a natural resource for fuel. They flipped the script. The craft was inside the fuel source which also offers natural protection and camouflage.
