Good, Texas can keep their trash at home.

I hope Texas will open up its casinos before LA approve sportsbetting just to show how slow we are at getting things done.

I'm not talking about Louisiana....
My comment was about Texas.

We better legalize pot quickly to make up those tax dollars.

I know. Don't worry about us. Wring hands about your state.

Louisiana casinos will end up like Tunica, Mississippi when this happens. That place is a ghost town now.
What changed that made people stop going to tunica?
I’ve never been so just curious.

If I were Texas, I'd put one on South Padre Island, one in San Antonio on the River Walk, and one in Galveston.

Keep thinking your national vote matters. It doesn't.

If you've ever walked through a casino parking lot in Shreveport every other car is from Texas.
I've been saying this for years, Texas needs to allow gambling and sports books.

Louisiana’s vote doesnt mater in a presidential election. I never thought otherwise.
However, Texas all of a sudden does. Which it never did until now.

I've worked in gaming in Louisiana for 20 years. I've been hearing Texas is going to legalize casinos any day now since the day I started. Still nothing.

Absolutely. I remember Tunica when it had 11 casinos in the early 2000’s. It was the third biggest gambling town in the country. When Chicago and St. Louis got casinos, it was the beginning of the end. Now they have one in West Memphis.
If Kentucky would just legalize sports betting, Indiana, Illinois and WV would stop benefiting from us

You'd go with either San Antonio or South Padre Island, but not both. Goal being to cash in on rich Mexicans who are already coming for shopping and medical tourism.
It's been a long time since Texans have had a real vote on this, and the state population has grown a lot since then. Has a real shot of public approval if it ever gets out of legislative committees.

It'll happen eventually. Tilman Fertitta is probably fighting it tooth and nail though.
