I just assumed he was white like most other cops.

Is that the same as assuming that when a person is killed by a cop that it was a white person killed?

You since I responded to you. But everyone really. There’s no consistency in anyone’s arguments. Sure there’s gray area, but it’s fairly clear the hypocrisy on both sides.

No. They won’t tell us his name. Just like when the dug addict criminal, George Floyd died. Wait...

I agree, especially in the cases of Alton Sterling, Michael brown, Breanna Taylor, etc etc etc. That capital rush was a sham. If that scared the politicians, they should be terrified of what could happen.

The one that I know that was wrong was Castille. But white unarmed criminals die in a higher percentage than blacks anyway.

People who do not follow police orders are asking to get shot unless I agree with their political views then it's totally different.

Babbitt had a commendable military service record, sad and senseless way to go out.

Difficult to know why she went through the window with a federal LEO pointing a weapon at her. Fog-of-war type scenario, he's sworn to protect Congress and I don't fault him for firing.

Intentionally charge or threaten any highly guarded senior government official at close range and the outcome may be similar.

Interesting that this rule applies to our government overlords but if a citizen tries to protect themselves or their livelihood in a similar situation they catch charges.

Fwiw: I think it was a good shoot, they had to draw the red line somewhere. That about did it. The rule should also apply in Portland, Minneapolis, and Kenosha and not just for state-sanctioned actors.

But they didn't draw a red line. Or at least if they drew they immediately erased it. In the minutes leading up to the shooting, armed police were guarding the barricade but then moved aside at the behest of the rioters/protesters, who then began to bang at the barricade in an attempt to get through. The armed police you see behind the rioters in numerous videos are the same police who had just moved out of the way.

How is that drawing a red line? If anything...it tells the protestors/rioters they are free to continue their march deeper into the Capitol Building. Our boy who shot Ashli Babbitt, meanwhile, was lying in wait inside of a doorway off to the left, in an area where Babbitt could not have possibly seen him. It's likely she never saw the person who shot her due to where she was and where the guy who shot her was.

He also didn't seem to give her any kind of a verbal warning. Typically when a line has been drawn by the police, you inform citizens where that line is and what the consequences are for crossing that line. That information was never given out.

If any of you are being honest with yourselves you know that if this had been a riot protesting the re-election of Trump, and that woman had been black, the officer in question would have been ID'd by the media and charges would have been filed within days of the incident. That's what pisses me off the most. It's an obvious double standard that none of you seem to have a major problem with.

The fact of the matter is this, if you think the Duante Wright shooting was unjustified, you can't support what happened to Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol Building. If you do then you are, my friend, a hypocrite.

Sad in so many ways...that we have come to this in our country. A white cop shoots a black suspect after the suspect does not comply with orders from the cop and all hell breaks loose. The cops face and name is shown across the globe drawing sympathy toward the suspect, and it all comes down to, "was it worth killing them" for a traffic violation?
Now roles reverse...a black capitol cop shoots and kills a white suspect who happens to be committing a crime by being inside the capitol with a mob. This white female posed no immediate threat to the black cop's life or to anyone else as she simply walked through a broken glass beside a door. And this was the only shooting that occurred inside the capitol that day!
We all knew right away who the white female was and that she was an Air Force Veteran from San Diego. And that's it! The media did not ask who killed her...the politicians did not ask who killed her, and chances are that our mindless POTUS did not comment on her death or contact her family with kind words and a vow to get to the bottom of this. Where's our true-to-the-constitution politicians, like Bill Cassidy? When will someone call for fairness and acknowledge that Ashli Babbit was a victim as much as the many "thugs" who have been portrayed as heroes in the recent years?
Time of reckoning is nearing, my friends!

I'm not giving you any warning either if you're trying to break through a secure door I'm standing behind. What sort of retarded is this?

You are if you're a police officer. I'm sorry, but just because you have a badge and a license to carry a firearm, doesn't mean you can pop the first thing that moves. Ever hear of the Use-of-Force Continuum? Deadly force is ALWAYS the last resort on that continuum. There were a number of other things he could have done in that situation. He was facing off against an unarmed 5'2" 110 lbs female in her late 30s. If he feels like his first reaction should have been shooting her in the chest, he probably shouldn't be a police officer.
