I just bought my 12 yr old a pair of $250 cleats...I'm sure at least $230 of that is profit. Nutty how crazy shoes are these days.

The company has sold out 61 percent more merchandise since releasing its Kaepernick ad, Reuters reported last week. Nike also discounted fewer products in the 10-day period after the ad compared to the 10-day period before its release.
Nike sales haven't been impacted because middle-aged white men have been wearing New Balance since their early 30's...

Does anyone think Nike, a billion dollar company, didn't do its research before the whole Kaepernick endorsement deal?
They are a public company, their only concern is increasing profits. They are not a new company that has to take big risk. This was a calculated decision.
Why is this such a big deal?
You know how much attention Nike got from this? They received a lot more advertising than they paid for.

“Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts,” the president tweeted in the days after the ad’s launch.
Also, even if the NFL declines in ratings, it will still win the ratings battle every weekend. The NFL is a strong brand, strong enough that even if it declines, it will still be on top.
Advertisers will still rather advertise during NFL games than anything else on Thursday night, Sunday and Monday night.
The NFL owners voted against Trump buying the Buffalo Bills in 2015. He has a personal vendetta against the NFL so he is going to use anything he can to try to get back at them. There will people who don't want to hear this, but this is the absolute truth.
Last year legalized betting generated $2.3 billion just from the NFL. Betting alone would keep the NFL alive.

You need to rethink this statement.

I think what we’re seeing is that affluent folks didn’t buy much Nike gear. I will definitely avoid them in the future, moreso because I hate companies that use controversy to try to sell stuff.
People who have to tell others they have money usually don’t have money.

Wish you had come home with an understanding of aisle vs. isle.

It's been shown black and Spanish people spend astronomically more money per person on athletic shoes than any other races.
Nike knew what they were doing. No question about it.
This is what so many old, white men do not understand.
Nike knows their target market and went after it.

Puma On Election Day 2016 $227.40
Puma stock today. $429
Under Armour is one of the few companies that has fallen in that time frame overall but they are also up 40% so far this year. Most of their losses are the result of a complete restructure.

Why did you pay full retail for those? High end soccer cleats are perennially on sale.
My last few cleat purchases:
Nike Tiempo Legend VI - retail $220, I paid $110
Puma Future 18.1 - retail $220, I paid $130
Nike Premier 2.0 - retail $110, I paid $90

Poliboard pissed.
And continues its multi year trend of never being right about anything while melting over everything.

My wife is recovering from surgery so yesterday, I took a half day at work. While on husband duty we had on CNBC, I was surprised to hear that-
Nike has lost 8% of its value in the past 90 days (Labor Day)

No one is buying more swoosh shite because of Colin’s commercial. Market and the economy are surging not to mention the fact it’s Christmas.
